We seek a long useful life for each piece that we create at BY NIUMA, which is why we are inspired by a timeless style with a careful design.
Our main mission is to democratize quality by achieving sustainable garments that are accessible to more women.
Transparency, as one of our core values, is a priority in all our processes in order to jointly drive positive change in the fashion industry.
We decided to unify the qualities of the fabrics that we wanted to use in the collection to avoid waste and reduce environmental impact, achieved by bundling the raw material of the garments in a single transport.
We are committed to natural fibers of organic vegetable origin and recycled materials, which allows us to continue prioritizing the feel of the fabrics, seeking softness, subtlety and purity in each garment.
Grown from organic non-genetically modified seeds. No chemical products or fertilizers are required to obtain it.
Linen is a sustainable natural textile fiber that comes from organic farming so it does not require artificial products for its production. It is a very resistant, biodegradable and recyclable fabric.
Soft and silky fabric made from natural beech wood obtained through a process that respects the planet.
All polyester fabrics used at BY NIUMA are manufactured from pre- and post-consumer waste, minimizing the production of petroleum-derived polyester.
Material formed by soft fibers from the cotton plant. These fibers are barely used in the industry generating great waste. That is why at BY NIUMA we aim to recycle it and use it in our garments because it is soft, silky and breathable.
After years of being the contract manufacturer for other firms we made the decision to give life to BY NIUMA, a brand where as creators we can be present during the design, preparation and shipping process. Without leaving any decision to third parties, we want to make you a partner of our community in order to let you see the evolution of the collection.
Gracias a nuestro taller propio ubicado en Tánger aseguramos unas condiciones de trabajo óptimas avaladas por diversas certificaciones (Social Audit Report Intertek; Social Audit Report SGS y Amfori BSCI Platform SGS), as well as the correct handling of all sustainable material. For this, we have passed a meticulous process that has led us to obtain the certification that qualifies us as an appropriate workshop to make garments with recycled and organic materials (RECYCLED CLAIM STANDARD 2.0 (RCS 2.0) Intertek).
We decided to entrust our knitwear collection to a Spanish workshop with more than 40 years of experience in the manufacture of weaving garments, always selecting a sustainable yarn.
As founders, Andrea and Laura, we seek constant sources of inspiration by pooling the ideas of each other and setting the aesthetics of the collection, drawing inspiration from the cosmopolitan and environmentally conscious woman.
Together with Mar, the BY NIUMA designer, we began to structure all these ideas and achieve a coherent and balanced collection that reflects everything that BY NIUMA represents.
All these ideas are reflected through sketches where the volumes and finishes of each model are detailed.
Once we have the collection focused, we start with the search and award of the fabrics, with the idea that all of them are comfortable, of quality and sustainable.
Once we have selected and ordered the models in the collection, we rely on sketches and technical sheets to be able to convey to the pattern makers, Fernando and María, the image we want each model to project.
Once the pattern is made, it is cut, ready for preparation.
Anna y Charo, las modelistas de By Niuma, consiguen dar vida a ese boceto inicial de meses atrás.
This is when we analyze the first sample and decide new details, adjustments, modifications and even new ideas.
After obtaining the final sample, with a perfect fitting, we go to production.
This final sample is sent to our workshop in Tangier, where our colleagues report each step of the process to us, while they supervise that all the instructions transmitted from the atelier in Madrid are fulfilled.
From our warehouse in Madrid we prepare and ship the orders for you. In them, we use 100% recycled stationery and packaging.
